Shields Il and Brittani Morrow (Andrew); his granddaughters, Arden and Ayla Morrow; and his brothers, Brian Shields (Leslie), James Shields (Margaret) and Patrick (Heather).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bishop Timon High School in honor of John J. Shields.
