He was predeceased by: his grandson Julian Chavez-Vitiello; and his siblings, Ralph Vitello (Mary), Andrew Vitello (Lillian), Josephine Evans (Ray) and Frank Vitello (Angela).
He is survived by: his wife Maria Vitiello (Lopez); his children, Gina Vitiello (Jacqueline Chavez), Michael Vitiello (Julie) and Anthony Vitiello (Maria); and his grandchildren, Joseph Vitiello, Claudia, Gabriel Chavez-Vitiello, Enzo and Benny Vitiello. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc. (911 Englewood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Gregory the Great Church (200 St Gregory Ct, Buffalo, NY 14221).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
