He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schwartz and Mildred Schwartz. He is survived by: his wife Susanne; his children, Joseph (Judy), Elizabeth Causyn (James) and Kathleen Leonard (Gray); his grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Thomas, Andrew, Daniel, David, Erin and Michael; and his siblings, Jean Karr (late Ken), James Schwartz (late Robert), Ann Brigden and Edward. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Citizens Advocating Memorial Preservation (CAMP), 310 N. Union St., Olean.
