He was predeceased by: his father James Thuman; his stepparents, Ernest "Hop" Coulson and Dorothy Thuman; his sister-in-law Linda Mulcahy; and his father-in-law Howard Spencer.

He is survived by: his mother Rosemary Coulson (Winter); his wife Helen M. Thuman (Spencer); his sister Paula Rehwaldt (Tom); his mother-in-law Shirley Spencer; and his in-laws, Barbara Lamont, Brian Spencer (Michele) and Bruce Spencer (Ed Fura). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
