He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Margery Hazelet; his children, Robert Jr. (Sue), Daniel (Barbara), Kelly Scheffler (Ron Suriano), Michael (Kim) and Rachael DiMaio (Michael); his son-in-law Gary Scheffler; his grandchildren, Lauren, Kyle, Matt, Michael, Luke, Jason, Kara, Greg, Joe and Abby; his great grandchild Sofia; and his siblings, Joan Toy (late Tom), Gail Nusall (Bob) and John B. Hazelet Jr. (Jane). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

“We knew Bob wasn’t doing well and we're heartbroken to hear of his passing. Countless laughs and good times over the years. I met Bob thru golf and spent over 30 years playing with him a couple times a week at the Port Colborne County Club. And thru Bob, Margie and I got to know his family and many of his friends. We were the lucky ones. We're going to miss our friend. Our thoughts are with the family and of Bob. Doug & Margie Hammond”
