“Hi, I am a historian that had been hoping to interview Mr. Finley as a probable descendant of brother's Thomas and John Finley, Thomas being lost aboard, the steamship W.H. Gilcher in 1892. John Finley, also a mariner, never went to sea again after his brother's untimely death and retired as an engineer with the Buffalo Water Department. Though I am regrettably too late to speak with Robert, I'm wondering if Cynthia or his son would be so kind as to give me a call at 231-920-6106. Thank you.”
