He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham John and Sarah John; and his siblings, George Hill, Randy John, Sharon Sundown and Charles John.
He is survived by: his significant other Nadine John; his children, Walter John Jr., Carson John (Ashley), Corinne John, Victoria Purdie (Lamar), Aaron John and Tabitha John; and his siblings, David John and Susan Curry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
