With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Furtak James of Burnt Hills, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 29, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walenty Furtak and Magdalena Furtak (Borek); her husband John Thomas James; her siblings, Sophie, Stanley, Helen, Eleanor, Julie and Josephine; and her great grandchild Nora Fulgieri.
She is survived by: her children, Loretta McGaughey (Kevin), Julia Smith (Whitney), Maureen Fulgieri (Dominic), John James (Margaret), Elizabeth Bevan (David) and Brian James (Melissa); her grandchildren, Trevor Smith (Danielle Desantis), Kelsey Fiorito (Adam), Victoria McMullen (Will), Dominic Fulgieri (Nicole), Vincent Fulgieri (Lauren), Olivia Wightman (Ross), Michael Fulgieri, Veronica Fulgieri, Sophia Fulgieri, Peter Fulgieri, Jack James, Liam James, Bridget James, Erin James, Matthew Bevan, Patrick Bevan and Kathleen Bevan; and her great grandchildren, William, Jackson McMullen, Henry Fulgieri, Monica and Eleanor Fulgieri.
