With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty J. Stedge of Byron, New York, born in Waverly, New York, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty left this world on April 22, 2024 at the age of 100, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Howard William Smith, Sr. and Christine Marie Mace Smith; her husband William J. Stedge; and her siblings, Howard Smith Jr., Robert Smith, Virginia Knickenbocker, Barbara Higgins and Cecil Burger.

She is survived by : her daughters, Nancy Pocock (Wayne) of Bergen and Patricia Swift (Frederick) of Queensbury; her grandsons, Daniel Swift, Rick Swift (Risa) and Michael Swift (Shelley); her great grandchildren, Raven Swift, Aydin Swift, Kamran Swift, Theo Jaffee, Alex Jaffee, Luke Jaffee, Elliott Davenport, Conner Swift, Ashley Kursar (Anders), Colby, Mikaylan Pocock, Jaden Pocock, Logan Pocock and Novalee Pocock; her great great grandchild Levi Pocock; and her siblings, Nelson Smith (late Carol) of Elmira and Shirley Hartman (Harry) of Elmira.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the H. E. Turner & Co. (51 S Lake St, Bergen, NY 14416). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bergen United Methodist Church (27 S Lake Ave, Bergen, NY 14416).
