He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh "Scotty" Laverty and Mildred Laverty (Bates); and his brothers, Wally Fedler and Neale Laverty. He is survived by: his wife Janice Burch Laverty; his sister Susan Skiff (David) of Sanford; his nephews, Wayne Laverty (Julie) of Cambridge and Scott Skiff (Aimee) of West Rupert, Vermont; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Laverty of Tempe, Arizona and Cathy Fedler Ackley of Greenwich. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
