He is survived by: his wife Melanie Douglas Brainerd; his children, Nicholas Brainerd of Saranac Lake, NY, Lyndsey Brainerd of Saratoga Springs, NY. and Shannon Brainerd of Saratoga Springs, NY.; and his sister Susan DeWein of Mechanicville, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
