With sadness, we share the passing of Barbara A. (Hayes) Shonyo of Camillus, New York. Barbara, born on October 27, 1932, passed away on October 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Barbara for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Barbara’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Shonyo; her sons, Brian and Gregg; her son-in-law Eric Lewandowski; and her parents, Timothy Hayes and Florence Hayes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Terry Lacey of Rochester and Joanne Lewandowski of Camillus; and her daughter-in-law Wendy Shonyo of Rougemont, NC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Buranich Funeral Home (5431 W Genesee St, Camillus, NY 13031).
In keeping with Barbara's lifelong love of children, contributions in her memory may be made to Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, One Children's Circle, Syracuse, NY 13210.
