He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria; his children, John R. Jr. and Janet Pitcher; his parents, Robert and Sarah; and his siblings, Robert, Alex and Helen Singer.
He is survived by: his son Douglas of Marcellus; his grandchildren, Andrew, Ralph Pitcher, John MacCallum III, Mary Fike (Corey), Sarah Wilson (Dave) and Jeannine Struble; and his daughter-in-law Kathleen MacCallum. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
