He was predeceased by: his grandson Eric Kunai Jr.; and his parents, Emil and Genevieve. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Melissa Sainsbury (William) of Syracuse, Lori Kunai (Eric) of Liverpool, Jason of Baldwinsville and Jake Laufer (Victoria) of Hannibal; his grandchildren, Tyler Wilson (Lindsay), Ondraya, Anna Kunai, Nolan Laufer, Katelyn, Claire, Ryan Sainsbury and Paige Laufer; his great grandchild Mahari Abram; and his brother Robert Laufer (Margaret) of Syracuse. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Buranich Funeral Home (5431 W Genesee St, Camillus, NY 13031). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Family Church (127 Chapel Dr, Syracuse, NY 13219). A burial will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery (4069 Howlett Hill Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215).
