He is survived by: his wife Ann of Syracuse; his children, David Mellen (Julie) of Syracuse and Audrey Carpenter (Jeff) of Jamesville; his grandchildren, Michael Mellen (Lexi), Nicholas Mellen (Ryleigh), Emilee Phillips (Nick), Jenna Mellen, Adam Carpenter, Katie Mellen and Jack Mellen; his great grandchildren, Henry Mellen and Amelia Phillips; his siblings-in-law, Sandra Fayette of Palm Springs, CA and Steven Fayette (Leslie) of Rome, NY; his sister Sandra Galla (Rob) of Rome, NY; and his pet Max. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
