He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald Smith and Aletta Smith (Miller); his daughter Crystal Smith; his siblings, Donald Smith and Nancy Smith; and his cousin Lamont Smith.
He is survived by : his wife Arlene Smith (Edmonds); his son Dale D. Smith (Amy); his siblings, David Smith (Donna) and Debra Smith; his grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail and Noah; his sister-in-law Marcia Smith; his cousins, Joan Miller and Phyllis Guller; and his close friends, Fred Emhof, Bob Maxson and Denny Payne. He is also survived by 5 nephews and 2 nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to Fort Plain Baseball Boosters to help purchase baseball awards that are given out each season (318 Moyer Street, Canajoharie NY 13317).
