He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Raymond, Clara Luft, Joseph and Mary Lupo. He is survived by: his parents, James Luft and Angeline Luft; his wife Karen Luft (Stoffer); and his sisters, Angela Miller (Jack) and Jennifer Shults (Dale). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a disease he managed for most of his life.
