It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald G. Wetzel of Canandaigua, New York, who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth E.; his parents, George L. Wetzel and Marie H. Wetzel of Rochester, NY; and also David L. Wetzel of Roanoke. He is survived by: his children, Scott L. Wetzel (Terry) of Pinehurst, NC, Lisa M. Gianni (Tony) of Livonia, NY and Jeffery M. Wetzel (April) of Venice Florida; his grandchildren, Brittany Marie McKusick (Taylor) of Waxhaw, NC, Mariesa M Simon (Justin) of Weedsport, NY, Dr. Shannon E Wetzel Bryant (Thomas) of Cary, NC, Anthony Gianni and Lindsay N. Gorter (Tom) of Charlotte, NC.; and his great grandchildren, Ella Marie Simon, Jaxson Simon, Elise McKusick, Nora McKusick, Alan Bryant, Logan Bryant and Brooks Gorter.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc. (219 Spencerport Rd, Rochester, NY 14606). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
