He is survived by: his wife Janet Johnston; his children, Nicholas Chappell (Kate), Mackenzie Johnston (Alyssa) and Karryn Johnston (Justin Delong); his grandchildren, Addy, Nora Rossi, Carter, Cole Chappell, Roselynn Johnston and Daphne Delong; his siblings, Scott Johnston (Terri), Casey Johnston and Morgan Johnston-Way; his uncle John Johnston (Patty); his aunt Patricia Crouse; his friends, Bridgett and Darrell; and his parents, James Johnston and Karen Johnston (Marshall). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
