He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. "Bucky" Button and Leona M. "Lee" Button (Horton); his brother Roger Button; and his nephew Gregg Button. He is survived by: his wife Jeannette Button; his children, Jeff Button (Erin) of Binghamton and Becky Button Espiritu (Rudy) of Maplewood, NJ; his grandchildren, Madison, Bennett, Crew and Parker; his siblings-in-law, Ellen Button of Canastota, Martha Grimshaw of Daytona Beach, FL and Ronald Myers of Conroe, TX; and his nieces and nephews, Todd Button, Scott Button, Richard Grimshaw, Steve Grimshaw, Lauri Conkling, Susan Windsor, Patricia Stang and Michelle Sendlenski.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc. (201 James St, Canastota, NY 13032). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Lenox Rural Cemetery (7196 Nelson Rd, Canastota, NY 13032).
In his memory, contributions may be made to the American Legion Charles Miller Post #140, 325 S. Peterboro Street, Canastota, NY 13032, or to the First Baptist Church of Canastota, PO Box 28, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
