We bid farewell to Norma Ames (Canton, New York), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 31, 2025 at the age of 92. Norma touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Stark and Lena Stark (Gardner); her husband Amaranth; her son Bruce Ames; her grandson Brian Ames; her son-in-law Peter Gilson; her brother Arnold Stark; her sisters-in-law, Frances and Joanne Stark; and her granddaughter-in-law Michelle Aldous.
She is survived by: her children, Allen Ames (Sue), Kevin Ames (Sally Remington), Ryan Ames (Kristen), Bonnie Aldous (Joe Wood), Debbie Gilson-Smith (Jim) and Joyce Sheridan (Wayne); her daughter-in-law Judy Ames; her grandchildren, Melanie Ames, Chrissy Swyers, Cindy Humphrey, Kevin Aldous (Margo Layton), Kenneth Aldous (Lisa), Simone Young (Tom), Hillary Gilson (Michael Labaff), John Sheridan (Whitney McRobbie), Ashleigh Laramay (Marcus), Katie Ames (Jake Regan), Jackson, Parker Ames, Jordan Remington (Mya Courtney), Ashley Remington (Zane Garrett) and Andi Lynne Kulhanek (Corey); her great grandchildren, Lindsay Hoyt (Brett), Ava Ames, Grace, Zach, Cloie Humphey, Dylan Reynolds, Katie, Ken Aldous Jr., Blake Young (Dayna Sullivan), Ryan Young (Tobey), Mackenzie Seguin (Will) and Arieana St. Andrews; her siblings, Lillian "Tootsie" Bigwarfe, Robert and Boyden Stark; and her sister-in-law Corinne Stark.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Service (5821 US-11, Canton, NY 13617). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
