He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bishop and Catherine Watson Bishop; and his brother Daniel Bishop. He is survived by: his wife Anna Bishop; his children, Stacia Hayner, Jennifer Romaine, Robert Bishop (Amanda) and Gary Bishop II; his grandchildren, Catherine, Joseph, Charisma Hayner, Christian, Keegan Jones, Liam and Tyler Bishop; and his brothers, William and Robert Bishop.

Memorial donations in Gary's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
