John T. Hunkins Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 22, 2025, at the age of 67, John T. Hunkins (Carthage, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though John has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Hunkins and Mary Louise Hunkins (Chisamore). He is survived by: his siblings, Gary Hunkins of Eagle Bay, Susan Hayford, Jr. (Al) of Fairfield, VT, Karen (William) and LaRock of Richland, NY; his stepmother Sandra Tabor of Cooperstown; and his stepsiblings, Robert "Bud" Tabor (Robin) and Carol McGovern (Robbie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The military honors will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Cemetery.
In place of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of his mother, Mary Lou Hunkins.
