With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mickal Durant Sr. of Carthage, New York, who passed away on May 19, 2026 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Mickal departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Mickal. Though Mickal may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Durant and Pauline Durant Sr. (Files); and his siblings, Doralyn Marsden, Robert "Bud" Durant Jr., Raymond Durant, Karole Roseanna, Harriett Pena and Paulette Illingsworth.
He is survived by: his children, Mickal Durant Jr. (Michelle) of Lyons Falls, NY, Matt Durant (Cindy) of Florence, SC and Jason Durant (Shelly) of Oak Ridge, NC; and his sisters, Molly Barkley and Lucinda "Cindy" Durant. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
