She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Ries and Minerva Ries (Horvitz). She is survived by: her daughter Samantha A. Brown (Jack); her grandchildren, Jacqueline H. Brown, Allison M. Brown and Harrison L. Brown; her brother Herbert Ries; her niece Julie Ries; her nephew Fred Ries; and her cousin Susan Youngblood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Miriam's name may be directed to the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society.
