John Macfie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Macfie of Centerport, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on January 14, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, John D. Macfie and Isabella Macfie (Scott); his siblings, Rita, Nora, Vera, Lillian, Winnie, Jean, David, Conrad and Franklin; his wife Mickey; his children, Donna Millo (John), John Macfie (Kristie), Megan Macfie (Artis Miner) and Jeremy Macfie (Rebecca); and his grandchildren, Nikol, Cody, Deanne, John, Charlotte, Eleanor, Isla, Weston and Hendrix. He was also cherished by many other family members and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington Hospital or Alzheimer's Association.

“He was not only hilarious and talented, but an incredible Father. I know you will see glimpses of John through Isla, Hendrix, Charlotte, Ellie, and West. Sending you all so much love and prayers.”

“Dear Mickey, Megs, & Jeremy. Jason and I are thinking of you all during this extremely difficult time. I have nothing but fond memories of John. He was always sure to make us all laugh….whether it was blasting “Wind Beneath my Wings” and playing it on repeat when he picked us up from the movies, requiring a password for me to talk to Megs (Casa Blanca, later changed to Arizona). I also am so lucky to have two pieces of his incredible art work which I will treasure forever.”
