Douglas D. Scherer Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas D. Scherer (Central Islip, New York), who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Belden Scherer and Lois Scherer; and his sisters, Lora Scherer and Barbara Callaway (Bobbie). He is survived by: his wife Melissa Hill Scherer; his brother Ronald Scherer; his daughters, Elizabeth Allen, Jennifer Callaway and Susan Scherer; his stepchildren, Myisha Adams, Ashanti Adams, Terrance Hill and Isaiah Adams; and his grandchildren, Jason DeCampo, Michael DeCampo, Sarah Scherer-Oursland, Audrey Callaway and Nathaniel Callaway. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that all donations be made to the Alzheimer's.
