As Richard departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Richard. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leward Gokey and Eleanore Gokey (Gipe); and his in-laws, Leonard and Anita Snide. He is survived by: his wife Carol Gokey; his sons, Grant of Plattsburgh, Justin of Champlain and Robert of Rouses Point; his siblings, Stephen (Brandie Martin) of Plattsburgh and Roxanne "Roxy" Vincent of Plattsburgh; his grandchildren, Isabella "Bella" Hebert and Malakai Gokey; and his pet Emma. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at 600 St Johns Rd, Champlain, NY 12919.
