She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmont Nelson and Gertrude Rightmyer Nelson; her husband John Van Tassel; her children-in-law, Alan and Diane; her grandson Drew; and her son Andrew Van Tassel (Linnea).
She is survived by: her children, Julie Colwell (Alan), John Van Tassel (Ann), Timothy Van Tassel (Marnie) and Rodney Van Tassel (Colleen); her grandchildren, Christopher, Mark, Bill, Bryan (Hollie), Lydia, Alison Van Tassel, Daniel, Bethany and Stephanie Graziano; and her great grandchildren, Ian Colwell, Jonathan, Amelia, Ellie and Cooper Van Tassel.
