She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin E Smith and Lillian Hodges Smith; her husband Duane A Thorpe; and her siblings, Melvin "Sonny" Smith, Bernice "Bunny" Howard and Norma Eddy.

She is survived by: her stepson Rande Thorpe (Virginia); her granddaughters, Kristie Brawley (Tom) and Lauren Smith (Daniel); her sister Mary Lou Best (Mac) of Little Rock, AR; and her great-niece Dolores Himes.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Falconer Funeral Home, Inc. (44 W Falconer St, Falconer, NY 14733). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the Bethel Baptist Church or Heritage Ministries.
