He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarious Peterson and Genevieve Peterson (Shutt). He is survived by: his girlfriend Janice Merola of Painted Post; his sons, Christopher Peterson (Mary) of Beaver Dams, Donald Peterson (Katy) of Lindley, Scotty Merola (Vicki) of Hornby and Michael Merola (Steve) of Springfield, Massachusetts.; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Amanda, Christopher, Dominick, Donny Jr., Bryan, Grace and Tanner; his great grandchildren, Kendall, Morgan, Logan, Dani Mae, Miles, Magnolia and Vincenzo; his son Jarious "Pete" Peterson III; and his siblings, William, Elmyra, Viola and Mable. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Junior's name to the American Cancer Society or to the VA, continuing his legacy of care for others.
