He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Miller and Mabel Miller. He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Dowding); his children, Denise Bush of Tennessee, Teresa Scanlin (Kevin) of Bridgeport, Patricia Phillips (W. Richard) of Liverpool, Richard Jr. of Chittenango and Scott Miller of Jamesville; his grandchildren, Stacey, Rose, Jason, Laura, Todd, Sara, Adam and Morgan; and his sister Carol Spetrino. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
