He was predeceased by: his parents, William Spier and Bertha Letterman Spier; his siblings, Charles, Lawrence, Wilbert, Warren, Lester, Elizabeth, Jeanette and May; and his sons, Frederick Jr. and David.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughter Tina Marie Hover (Jeff); his daughters-in-law, Elaine and Cameron; and his grandchildren, William, Justin, Jeffery Jr., Jessica, Jacinda, Jarrett and Katelyn. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephew.
