He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smith and Caroline Smith (Redmond) of Associate's Degree; and his son Michael Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Smith (Kesselring); his daughters, Marie Brzuszkiewicz (Brian) and Eileen Smith; his grandchildren, Griffin and Gannon Brzuszkiewicz; and his sisters, Nancy Myers and Linda Venditti (Anthony). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home (3401 Vickery Rd, Syracuse, NY 13212). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crouse Hospital Neonatal Unit at Crouse Health Foundation, 736 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
