He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Goettel and Louise Goettel (Klotz); his wife Laureen; his granddaughter Ashling Lillian O'Brien; and his brothers, Douglas and John "Jack" Goettel.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Goettel (Stacie), Christine Barber (Chris), Kenneth Goettel, Kimberly O'Brien (Rich) and Cynthia Phuntek (Brian); and his sisters, Susan and Melissa. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; his 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
