We are sad to announce that on July 5, 2025, at the age of 91, Helene Lucille Shafran (Circleville, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Samuel Hast and Yetta Hast; her sons, Peter (Paula), Jonathan (Karen) and Howard; and her grandchildren, Jared (Kelly), Ethan (Michelle), Michael, Kayla (Daniel), James, Max, Andy and Sophie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hadassah or any Jewish organization of your choice.

“Helene Shafran has been a member of Hadassah for a lifetime, and a staunch supporter as well. As philanthropy chair of Monroe Hadassah, she increased giving exponentially. She was an active member, attending our monthly programs and board meetings. Before that, she was active in a Florida Chapter. She offered great advice, and always had good suggestions. Her kindness and compassion, and her generosity and support will be missed. Thank you, dear one. Remembering you is a blessing!”
