With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jeanette K. Shumsky of Claverack, New York, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Jeanette left this world on November 28, 2025 at the age of 71, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everette R. Slemp and Norma Slemp (Laursen); her husband James J. Shumsky Sr.; her son Michael James Shumsky; and her sister Sandra Slemp.
She is survived by: her brothers, David Slemp of Stony Creek, NY, James Slemp and NJ William Slemp of Hudson; her sister-in-law Diana Slemp; and her pet Jack Russell Terrier "Lexie". She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sacco Funeral Home (700 Town Hall Dr, Hudson, NY 12534). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cedar Park Cemetery (20 Columbia Turnpike, Hudson, NY 12534).
Jeanette has requested memorial contributions made in her memory to Shriners Hospital for Children.
