He was predeceased by : his parents, Gerald B. Carpenter and Violet Beebe Carpenter. He is survived by : his wife Shirley Adah Dixon; his daughters, Tracy Lynne Brabant (James) of Clayton and Tory Leigh Carpenter of Clayton; his granddaughters, Elise Hart Flynt (Zachary) of Dunlap and Elaine Hazel Karr (Lucas) of Ocala, Florida; his great grandchildren, Maddox Flynt, Ian Flynt and Madeline Karr; and his siblings, Wendy N. Rappold of Myrtle Beach and Cleveland B. Carpenter (Brenda) of Gadsden, Alabama. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
