He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fern Bruneau and Maurice Ruel; his wife Barbara Ruel of Clifton Park; and his daughter Erin Konchanin of New York City. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, and cousins in Maine and in-laws and their children.
