He was predeceased by: his father Nimrod J. Merchant. He is survived by: his wife Saroja Merchant; his mother Usha N. Merchant; his children, Asha Grant (Dwight), Amit Merchant, Reena Leece (Nathanael), Prakash Merchant, Ashok Merchant, Anju Merchant (Benjamin Larkin) and Manish Benjamin Merchant; and his grandchildren, Nakeem, Nazir and Loyalty Grant.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Baptist Church (11 Glenridge Rd, Rexford, NY 12148). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Anthony's Cemetery (27 Glenridge Rd, Schenectady, NY 12302).
