He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Annette; and his siblings, John Thornton, Lauraine Dale, Frances Whitehead, Theresa Demeulenaere and Sandra Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn A. Thornton; his children, Lisa Glasheen (Ronald) and William P. Thornton, III (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Keira Glasheen, Scott Glasheen and Emily Thornton. He is also survived by his several nieces and nephews.
