He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Dilford Carter and Lucy Violet Pennington Carter; and his siblings, James, Elizabeth Elaine Carter and June Claire Carter Mason.
He is survived by: his brother Dilford Carter (Sigrid); his niece Kathleen Hoffman; his nephews, Dr. Campbell Carter (Kari), Scott Carter (Susanne), Jeff Carter Mason (Sue), John B. Mason and Kirk B. Mason (Lisa); his great-niece Michele Anderson; and his great-nephews, Mark Mason, Rand and John.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos-Our Lady of Grace.
