He was predeceased by: his wife Martha J. Leonard; and his parents, Richard A. Leonard Sr. and Betty V. Leonard. He is survived by: his sisters, Lydia, Susan and Melody; his children, Brandon Teachout (Birdy), Brandy Townsend (Kevin), Samantha Thurston (Robert), Joelle Townsend and Ashley Purdy; his granddaughter Cindy Golembeski; and his close friends, Shannon Smolinski and Patrick Congdon. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Savannah Fire Hall (1770 NY-89, Savannah, NY 13146).
