It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lou Kniskern of Cobleskill, New York, who passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Mary Lou departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary Lou may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary Lou leaves behind.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parent Cobleskill; her former husband Harold Preston Coager; her husband Jeff Kniskern; her children, Sheila Coager and Tim Coager (Donna Lesniewki Vanvalkenburg); her grandson Preston Coager; and her brothers, Joe Vacula and Dan Vacula. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
