He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carlton DeVries and Florence "Linda" DeVries; his wife Dr. Nina Stephens Caires; his siblings, Steven DeVries (Julia) and Cathy Stark; his cousin Dr. Doug Brum; his nieces, Allie Stark (Jonathan) and Makenzie Rose (Simon); and his friends, Richard and Karla Miller. He was also cherished by many close friends and family members.

Dr. Richard Alan DeVries Age 72 born in Queens, New York passed at his home Thursday January 11, 2024, Coeymans Hollow, New York after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease and pancreatic cancer.
