He was predeceased by: his wife Anne M. McHugh (DeFlumer); and his grandson Andrew McHugh. He is survived by: his sons, George (Rosemary), Joseph (Amy) and Albert (Candace); his grandchildren, George (Jillian), Daniel (Sarah), Michael (Camryn), Matthew (Audrey), Megan, Nicholas, Joseph and Mary; and his great grandchildren, Georgia, Carver and Maisie.
