He was predeceased by : his parents, Emile Gariepy and Malvina Gariepy (Lemire); his grandson Jeffrey M. Gariepy, Jr.; his great grandchild Colton Michael Mitchell; his brothers, Rene Gariepy and Gerard Gariepy; and his pet Gretel.

He is survived by : his wife Beverly Ann Gradoni Gariepy; his children, Daniel L. (Suzanne) of Melrose, Jeffrey M. (Bonnie) of Schaghticoke, Brian J. of Green Island, David S. (Sharon) of Cohoes, Linda T. Hunt (Fred) of Green Island and James M. (Mary) of Salem; and his grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Jessica, Carissa, Matthew, Andrew, Amber, Cody and Michael. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
