Coons; his children, Casey Coons (Sharon), Larry Coons (Pam) and Sean Coons (Jackie); his sister Bessie Mae Martino; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Austin (James), Nathan, Lindsay, Allison (Adam), Eden, Pierce, Lily, Aiden, Noah, Noelle, David, Dayne and Jessica.
Howard always stated that "if I'd known grandchildren were so much fun, I'd have had them first" and "instead of flowers or cards, give your kids money and tell them it's walk around money from Pa".
