He is survived by: his sons, John D. Schanz and William D. Schanz; his daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Schanz (Squarzini) and Mary Schanz (Darcy); his grandchildren, John D. Schanz, Jr. (Meredith A. Shea), Eric J. Schanz (Meghan A. Moran), Michael J. Schanz (Brandi N. Bauer), Cody M. Schanz (Michele T. Grosso), Emily E. Schanz, Haleigh M. (Schanz) and Linnane (Nikolas R. Linnane); his great grandchildren, Cassidy A. Schanz, Noah M. Schanz, Paige L. Schanz, Landon M. Linnane and Colton D. Schanz; and his sisters-in-law, Dottie Schanz and Kay Schanz. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
