She was predeceased by: her significant other Charles K. Birckhead; her son Benjamin Swafford; her siblings, Clarence, Wilber Neil, Verna Adler, Wilda Hutchinson and Mary Lipchus; and her parents, Robert C. Neil and Mary Jane Shields Neil.
She is survived by: her son William "Bill" Swafford (Carolyn "Lyn"); her daughter-in-law Pat Swafford of Raliegh, NC; her stepsons, James Birckhead (Carol) of Great Falls, MT, Hunter (Karen) and NJ; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Swafford, Neil Swafford (Amanda), Mark Swafford (Diana Griffith), Ian Swafford and Amy Rambeau (Stephen); and also William T. Swafford. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter as well as several nieces and nephews.
